The first thing you'll notice about this game is that it looks like a movie. A real movie. The other games might have been influenced by more traditional games, but Ace Ventura looks like a movie. And the game plays like a movie too. One of the things the game gets right that many adventure games miss is humor. Ace Ventura is an adventure game in the same vein as Monkey Island and Sam & Max, but it's low-brow humor makes it stand out. For example, one of your inventory items is Ace's clenched fist, which you click on to get a hidden link. In the game this opens a brief scene showing Ace in a wrestling match.
