The episodes of the Japanese anime series Gintama were animated by Sunrise. The first 99 episodes were directed by Shinji Takamatsu. Episodes 100 to 105 were directed by Takamatsu and Yoichi Fujita, while following episodes only by Fujita.[1] It premiered on TV Tokyo on April 4, 2006, and finished on March 25, 2010 with a total of 201 episodes.[2][3] The anime is based on Hideaki Sorachi's manga of the same name.[4] The story revolves around an eccentric samurai, Gintoki Sakata, his apprentice, Shinpachi Shimura, and a teenage alien girl named Kagura. All three are freelancers who search for work in order to pay the monthly rent, which usually goes unpaid anyway.
On January 8, 2009, the streaming video service Crunchyroll began offering English subtitled episodes of the series. On the same day, Crunchyroll also began uploading episodes from the beginning of the series at a rate of two a week.[13] The anime is licensed by Sentai Filmworks, with distribution from Section23 Films. Section23 Films' Chris Oarr commented that only the first two seasons were licensed, with an option on the rest.[14] The first collection containing thirteen English-subtitled episodes was released on DVD on April 27, 2010.[14][15]
While the original anime series ended with the fourth season, a sequel series, titled Gintama' and directed by Yoichi Fujita, began airing on April 4, 2011 and concluded on March 28, 2013 after sixty-four episodes.[16] A third anime series, Gintama, was produced by BN Pictures with Chizuru Miyawaki directing. This series lasted fifty-one episodes and was broadcast from on April 8, 2015 to March 30, 2016.
It has been a while since we saw the four of them fight together and it was awesome. Let us move along and talk more about the most interesting and much awaited fight in this episode. The fight between these two insane idiots.
We will get to see Umibozu and Kamui fighting in the next episode. I always assumed that Kagura will be the one to punch some sense into him and drag him back home but it looks like Umibozu will be the one doing it. I doubt Kagura will stand by and watch them fight but I also doubt she will be able to pick a side and stopping their fight is pretty much impossible.
At the end of the episode the animators replaced some cool scenes of Gintoki with Pakuyasa and it was great even though it annoyed Gintoki a lot. We will probably see more of Pakuyasa in the future. It is a good joke and I am sure a show like Gintama will make good use of it.
This episode is just as awesome and action-packed as expected. The actual fight between Shokaku and Katsura took just a little over five minutes. I like how the fights in Gintama can be short and intense at the same time. Sogo vs Kamui fight and Gintoki vs Jirocho fight (the one they fought right after Jirocho attacked Otose) are good examples of that.
Wait, the anime is ending in April Shinpachi didn't remember stuff that was said a year ago. Gintoki explains the number by the episode title, and reveals that the numbers had been there week after week since the countdown episode. Gintoki doesn't like having a movie right after the show ends for various reasons and also doesn't want people to be fooled by the tickets. From there, even though he warns the audience to not be tricked by it, they air a short commercial for the movie that also states the anime's end.
Shinpachi is excited for the upcoming final arc anime but Gintoki and Kagura tells him it's not ready yet,so they announce to the viewers a rerun series of past episodes called Yorinuki Gintama-san while showing them a preview of the upcoming live action movie which was actually the live action actors voicing their roles in the anime, The segment ends with Gintoki lipsynching his live action actor Shun Oguri picture telling the viewers to watch the rerun series along with the live action movie in July
The next episode preview was about to announce the upcoming episode but then realizing that there are no more episodes, and that the semi-final miniseries is a tie-in to the FINAL movie so it instead thank the viewers for watching the anime series for the last 15 years.
Nonetheless, Gintama does indeed have filler episodes. Surprisingly, very little of the anime series is filler. Some people say to avoid the first two episodes, as they are not manga canon. However, they do give a good idea of what sort of series this is.
As a self-proclaimed super fan of the series, I felt that I was doing a disservice to the series if I did not at least watch an episode of the dub. By the end of the night, I had watched the first three episodes and I feel that I can give my first impressions of the dub. So here we go: 59ce067264
